The School Nutrition on-line payment system is undergoing maintenance. Families can set up their accounts, but we are unable to take payment through the system. Please send a check or cash in an envelope with your child's name on it tomorrow. We are sorry for the inconvenience and we will let everyone know when it is up and running. We are looking forward to serving your child in the school cafeteria.

2022-2023 School Year
DRESS CODE: Students shall dress and groom in a clean, neat and modest manner so as not to distract or interfere with the operation of the school. When a student is attired in a manner which is likely to cause disruption or interference with the operation of the school, the principal shall take appropriate action, which may include suspension. Tennessee law prohibits students from wearing, while on the grounds of a public school during the regular school day, clothing that exposes underwear or body parts in an indecent manner that disrupts the learning environment. Violations of individual school dress code policies shall be subject to disciplinary action under the Student Code of Conduct. The following are merely guidelines for appropriate dress and are not intended to be an exhaustive list. All dress code violations will be determined at the discretion of the administration. Shorts or skirts must be knee length.
SHIRTS WORN WITH LEGGINGS MUST COVER THE BOTTOM AND LONG IN THE FRONT AS WELL.
All clothing must be modest, appropriately fitted, and appropriate for school.
No skin shows above the knee.
No visible tattoos
No facial piercings
No unnatural shades of hair coloring
No sunglasses
No caps
Hoodies are permissible; however, the hood must not be worn on the head.
No pajama bottoms
IF WEARING LEGGINGS, THE SHIRT MUST COVER THE BOTTOM AND THE FRONT.
DRESS CODE WILL BE EFFECTIVE THE FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL.

FINAL EXAMS EXEMPTIONS
Any student in grades 5-12 will be exempt from final exams if they meet the following criteria:

85-92 4 absences 2 absences 2 absences 1 absences
75-84 3 absences 1 absences 1 absences 0 absences
The cut-off for attendance for the Final Test Exemption will be the last school day before final tests are scheduled to begin.
Students who have attained the necessary grade average will be exempted only if a parent or legal guardian has signed the appropriate form acknowledging awareness of the exemption and gives permission for the student not to attend school on the day(s) of exams. Each student that does not attend school on exam days must have a parental consent form on file.
Any student who has attained perfect attendance in an individual subject, and has a grade of 75 or above, will be exempt from the final test. Students may elect to take the final test if desired.

An all-day ACT Boot Camp is being held Saturday, March 12th at 8:00 am. Dr. Tim Setterlund will be providing the training. This workshop is for 11th grade CTE students but non-CTE students may sign up. Contact SCHS to sign up. It will be held in the cafeteria at Smith County High School.
