October Title 1 Newsletter
SCMS would like to recognize Iris Rustenburg accomplishment as a Junior Girl Scout. Her and a team of her fellow Girl Scouts, in troop 1019, completed their Bronze award project this weekend by installing a Free Little Library at the Turner-Clark Basketball Court on Spring Street in Carthage. We are so proud of Iris and all her fellow Girl Scouts on this accomplishment. Congratulations Iris.
Breakfast/Lunch Menu for October 2025
Book Fair is coming October 2nd-October 10th. We will be open the night of Parent Teacher Conference as well. Hope to see you there.
Smith County Middle School Cheerleading is presenting "Miss Golden Spirit" on October 11 at Smith County Ag Center.
SCMS softball tryouts are tomorrow, September 12th, 2025 at Crump Paris from 3:30-5:00. You must have a current physical. All returning players must attend tryouts.

Homecoming is September 8th-12th for Smith County Middle School . All dress up days must follow school dress code. Hats are allowed as long as it goes with the dress up day.

We are excited to announce the newest members of our athletic program. Mr. Zach Vincent SCMS Girls Head Basketball Coach and Mrs. Maryah Parks SCMS Girls Assistant Basketball coach.
Tryouts: May 22nd and 23rd from 3:30-5pm
April 30th after lunch Auntie Anne's Pretzels will be here for purchase. Permission slips are in the office.
State Testing begins Monday, April 14th until Tuesday, April 29th
We will be taking 1 test each day starting at 8:30am. Students who have perfect attendance through the duration of testing, will have a pizza party the afternoon of April 29th as a reward.
