UHS Before & After School Program
Union Heights School is excited to continue our 21st Century Community Learning Center grant for the extended learning enrichment program! The program will meet Monday through Friday mornings from 6:45-7:45am, and Monday through Thursday afternoons from 3:00-5:00pm. Your learner may attend mornings, afternoons, or BOTH. This program is available to all students in grades 1-8 and will begin on Monday, August 21, 2023.
This is very early, but it is important to extend students the opportunity to receive homework help, tutoring, and academic enrichment to supplement the daily activities in the classroom. If you would like to enroll your child in our program, complete the registration form that was sent home with your child and return to school.
The Before School portion focuses on homework help and tutoring needs for students. They are released to have breakfast before going to class with their homeroom teachers.
The After School portion includes:
- A nutritious snack
- Working to improve reading skills and fluency
- Practicing math skills and fluency
- Improving computer skills and competencies
- Problem solving skills
- School based Service Projects
- Homework help/tutoring
- Engage in healthy activities/exercise
- Interact socially with their peers
- There will be a Parent Orientation meeting on Tuesday, August 15, 2023 at 3:30 pm in Ms. Stiggins classroom in order to answer any questions you may have.
- You will receive an electronic copy of the handbook, and calendar once your learner is enrolled.

- Before School hours are 6:45-7:45 am Monday - Friday
- After School hours are 3:00-5:00 pm Monday - Thursday.
