CHS Graduation Information
SCHS graduation date is set for Friday, May 15, 2020, at 7:30 PM at Owl Stadium. Alternate dates for inclement weather are Saturday, May 16 and Monday, May 18 at 7:30.
DTC and NCTC will be at the field live streaming the graduation ceremony for anyone not attending.
The gates at the field will open at 6:30 PM. Accommodations will be made for handicapped individuals. Please contact the school if you know your guest will require accommodations.
Members of the class of 2020 will be allowed two (2) guests per graduate. Students will receive 3 questionnaires on Friday, May 8, 2020, during cap and gown pick up. One of these questionnaires will need to be completed by the student and brought to turn in as you are screened for the ceremony. The other two questionnaires will serve as the 2 guest tickets and are to be completed by your guest and turned in as they enter the football field for screening.
Your 2 guests will turn in the questionnaire as they enter the field, be screened for temperature, and will be required to wear a mask at the ceremony.
Graduates or their guests that have had a positive COVID-19 test or are experiencing fever, cough, shortness of breath, muscle pain, headache, sore throat, or new loss of taste or smell will not be allowed to enter.
Seniors are to be at school by 6:00 PM on the day of graduation. Seniors are to park in the front parking lot and enter the building closest to Coach Apple’s room (not the bus loading doors). Students will then turn in their questionnaire, be screened for temperature, and be directed to the gym for an assigned seating area before the ceremony to maintain social distancing. Parents are not allowed where graduates are meeting at 6:00.
We will lock the doors of the gym for students to be able to leave their personal items in there during the ceremony.
Seniors will receive their diplomas during the ceremony.
Remember to bring your cap and gown and any club stoles and cords.
We will have a photographer making pictures as seniors receive diplomas. Information about pictures will be distributed at a later time.
GRADUATION ATTIRE:
We suggest seniors wear a shirt (with a collar and tie), dress pants, and dress shoes or a dress. We are suggesting flats or low heel shoes due to being on the football field. Do not wear tennis shoes (this includes Converse). Graduation is a formal occasion, and we want you to look nice. You may NOT decorate your caps. No facial piercings, visible tattoos, or unnatural hair color. Simply, follow the school dress code.

Return devices, library books, textbooks, and pick up personal items May 18 with last names A-L 9:00 AM-10:30 AM, last names M-Z 10:30 AM-12:00 PM.
